What entities are eligible for MSME / SSI Registration?
 
Micro Enterprises: These are the smallest entities, of course. Micro manufacturing enterprises have an investment of less than Rs. 25 lakh in plant and machinery, while micro service enterprises have less than Rs. 10 lakh invested in equipment.
 
Small Enterprises: Small manufacturing enterprises may have between Rs. 25 lakh and Rs. 5 crore invested in plant and machinery. While small service enterprises may have between Rs. 10 lakh and Rs. 2 crore invested in equipment.
 
Medium Enterprises: Medium manufacturing enterprises may have between Rs. 5 crore and Rs. 10 crore invested in plant and machinery. While small service enterprises may have between Rs. 2 crore and Rs. 5 crore invested in equipment.
 
For manufacturing entities, land and building cannot be counted toward the total investment. Also, the original cost of the equipment and plant and machinery is taken into account; depreciation cannot be factored in. Any business entity may apply, be it a partnership or a company. Sole proprietors may also apply.
 
Is MSME/Udyog Aadhar Registration is Mandatory?

New Delhi, June 7 (KNN) The MSME Ministry has released guidelines for implementation of Upscale ‘Financial Support to MSMEs in ZED Certification Scheme.
Zero Defect & Zero Effect (ZED) certification scheme envisages the creation of an ecosystem for competitive, quality and clean manufacturing, promote the development of world-class products, expand markets for MSMEs etc.
The Development Commissioner (MSME), Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, said it will implement up-scaled ‘Financial Support to MSMEs in ZED Certification Scheme’ for the benefit of manufacturing MSMEs for a period ending 2019-20.
The estimated financial outlay for the scheme is Rs 116.94 crore with Government of India’s contribution of Rs 100.00 crore and Private Contribution of Rs 16.94 crore.
The scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 18, 2016 for 22,222 MSMEs during 12th Five Year Plan with the total Project Cost of Rs 491.00 crore.
DC MSME in its guidelines document said, ‘The Scheme is Up-scaled to enhance the registration by provisioning handholding support to MSME even after the Desktop Assessment to enhance their manufacturing competitiveness and to adopt the pilot project/technologies available or developed by Central/State Government bodies like CSIR, BARC, DRDO, etc. to move on the ZED journey.
Under the scheme, awareness and training programmes, workshops, Onsite Training for Enterprise Capacity Building for NER, J & K, Industrially backward and remote areas, raining of officials of implementing agencies will be held.
Under the scheme, assistance will also be given to MSMEs for Desktop Assessment & analysis, for Consultancy, Gap Analysis, Handholding & to move towards Zero Effect solutions by Consultants through NMIU/IAs, for pilot-project implementation with available/developed technologies by Central/State Government bodies to move towards zero effect manufacturing and for acquisition of cleaner/efficient technologies to support MSMEs etc.
The scheme will be implemented on MSMEs spread all over the country for all manufacturing sectors.
National Monitoring and Implementing Unit(s) (NMIU), under the overall directions of DC (MSME) and PMAC will be the implementing agency for the scheme. NMIU will be responsible for facilitating, implementing, coordinating and monitoring of the scheme. (KNN Bureau)
