What is MSME Registration

MSME registration is a governmental scheme-enabling registration that is provided to the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (Now you know where MSME comes from). The classification of these enterprises is on the basis of how much they have invested in their equipment and machinery. There can be two types of MSMEs:

  1. Service Enterprise
  2. Manufacturing Enterprise

Micro Enterprise:

For service enterprise, the investment in equipment should not be more than INR 10 lakh and for manufacturing enterprise, the investment in machinery and plant should not be more than INR 25 lakh.

Small Enterprise

For service enterprise, the investment in equipment should not be more than INR 2 Crore and for manufacturing enterprise, the investment in machinery and plant should not be more than INR 5 Crore.

Medium Enterprise

For service enterprise, the investment in equipment should not be more than INR 5 Crore and for manufacturing enterprise, the investment in machinery and plant should not be more than INR 10 Crore.

Now the process of registration is quite easy:

  1. You file the application for MSME registration in the prescribed format.
  2. You submit the application along with the documents:
    1. COI / partnership deed of the company
    2. MOA and AOA of the company
    3. PAN card number of the company
    4. Sale and purchase bill of equipment and machinery
  3. Once you submit the application along with the documents, you are going to get the MSME registration number if it is accepted.
